The peaceful Island…

As the summer is getting closer lets bring in our minds one of the most picturesque islands in Cyclades.
Folegandros is a small, charming and sunny Aegean island. The natural beauties and the warm hospitality of its residents have turned the island into a popular travel destination. It is the perfect place for those wanting to relax.
The island of Folegandros belongs to the southwest Cyclades. It is located between Milos and Sikinos islands. It has an area of 32 sq. km and a length of shores that reaches up to 40 km.
Its three small villages, Karavostasi (the port), the Chora , Ano Meria and Agali Beach are connected by paved roads.
The Chora, closed to car and motorcycle traffic, has a unique "center" of three squares in a row, with trees under which to enjoy a drink or food in a quiet, romantic atmosphere.
Chora is comprised of two settlements, the Medieval, inside the Venetian castle and the modern one, outside the castle walls. Make a walk around the cobblestone paths of Chora and let it enchant you.
The church of Panaghia , on the top of a hill, offers a nice walk and a magnificent view of the Chora and of the west coast.
Aggali is a small coastal settlement you must visit. The homonym beach is one of the most beautiful in the island. While being in the island don't miss visiting the settlement of Ano Meira with the green fields.
The bus is the main transportation mean of Folegandros, to take you either to the port or to the various unpaved roads that lead to the beaches. Car and moto renters in the Chora. Also, to reach the various beaches little fishing boats depart daily form the port of Karavostasis.
Folegandros is a main stop on the ferry line Piraeus - Milos -Santorini , and it has also frequent ferries or hydrofoils to Paros, Mhkonos, Ios and the near Sikinos.
A tour around the island will stay forever in your mind, while you' ll have the chance to take some amazing photos.
So, be patient and in a few months everyone will have the opportunity to visit it!
